Ernie Sesame Street doll, late 80's early 90's? - sesame street plush

I had this Ernie doll from Sesame Street when I was small. It is full of fabric and had a book in his hand. I'm trying to understand what it meant, or if anyone knows where I can get one, it would be even better. It was probably sold between 1987 and 1994. Any help with the search terms would be great!
Clarification of the wrist was attached to the book in his hand, holding his hand. The book is also filled. and his head was not around, it was more than 2 dimensions. almost like a blanket, if that makes sense.
